Following the recent clarification of crash helmet standards by the MSA I am now confused....
The MSA says it was going to disallow BS 6658-85 Type A/FR helmets after December 31, 2013 but is now extending this to the end of 2015.
As I recall, the Scottish Sprint/Hillclimb rules disallowed these types of helmet from the end of last year or have I got that wrong?
Basically, is my BS 6658-85 Type A/FR helmet allowable this year in Scottish sprints and hillclimbs? Does anyone have a definitive answer?

| BS 6658-85 Type A are now disallowed, Type A/FR i.e. Fire Resistant (lining) are going to be valid to end of 2015 |

A definitive answer - the Scottish Championship rules do not specify standards for clothing or helmets, but the MSA Blue Book does - whatever the Blue Book says, that is what we follow.
There was a guidance note sent out last year, which was based on the facts as they were at the time. |
